SERENDIPITY

Coincidence:
God's way of staying anonymous.

We thought this title fitting because of how the team was assembled by God.

Simone here~ Well here we are just 8 days away from our departure date and I realize that my emotions are not as intact as I thought they would be! It is almost like a dream. I thought I would take a minute to thank all the prayer partners that our team has out there. Your prayers will help carry our team through this journey along with the help of our fearless guide - that would be Guide with an uppercase G! At this point only God knows what doors He will open for us but I do believe the four of us are ready to cross that threshold and embrace this journey. We do realize that we cannot change the world of Lilongwe, nothing we will do will be complete, but we do know that it is an opportunity, a step that enables us to do something, and hopefully to do it well. We are the workers not the Master Builder so off to work we go......

How many loaves do i have?

Just finished reading "THE HOLE IN OUR GOSPEL" by Richard Stearns. He wrote:" God has created each of us with a unique contribution to make to our world and our times. No other person has our same abilities, motivations, network of friends and relationships, perspectives, ideas, or experiences. When we, like misplaced puzzle pieces, fail to show up, the overall pictures is diminished."

In the sermon on the mount account, when the people came to see Jesus - the disciples wanted to send them away. Jesus asked if anyone had food. One small boy gave the 5 loaves and 2 fish. Did noone else have food, or was he the only person of the thousands, willing to share and as a result everyone was fed?

Mosquito Blessings and Answers to Prayer

We now have enough for all the mosquito nets for Kawale and Area 44 - 188 nets. The story is amazing, but i'll let Simone share this with you if she chooses. Also, our tickets are back to arriving in Lilongwe at 11 am, rather than 11pm. What an amazing answer to prayer... God does care about the details... and we are grateful.

Theresa and Debbie meet in Toronto

Debbie meets Theresa Malila in TO

One of our team members, Debbie, met Theresa Malila at People's Church in Toronto the end of April. Great connection at which Theresa has affirmed that sometime in her travels she would love to head to Winnipeg also. How awesome that would be!!

Final Team meeting

We enjoyed this weekend at Simone's cabin - team building and making final preparations for our trip. So relaxing to get away and focus on worship, continue our Destination Study, prepare our hearts, and finalize details. We realized that our hearts need to be filled with EXPECTANCY of what God wants to accomplish, rather than EXPECTATIONS that we have no control over and could greatly disappoint. Our prayer requests include:

-pray that our ticket discrepancies will be resolved

-Netties mom’s health and care needs

-luggage-that it ALL arrives in Lilongwe w/o a hitch

-safety and health for team members as well as Somebody Cares and Kawale staff

-that we would use opportunities of waiting to connect with those around us.

-for wisdom for Somebody Cares in planning our itenerary.

The weekend was amazing because we all left refreshed in mind, body and soul and trusting in God's sovereignty as we are acutely aware that God has brought our team together for such a time as this.
